Martin ByrneMartin  Byrne played accordion, fiddle, and tin whistle and was from Country Mayo. He was a splendid Irish musician, a devout Catholic, and a man who loved Irish culture. 

Whenever Martin arrived at a gathering, a session would begin. Martin played a major part in the development of Gaelic Park. He was a great Irishman and a fine family man. He always had a good word for anyone. Martin and his wife Bridget promoted Irish music and Irish culture. Martin was married to Bridget for 50 years and has five children.

Martin lived in St. Thomas More Parish on the South Side for most of his adult life and was a member of the Irish Musicians Association.
